After the disappointment of cancelling last year and postponing the original date for this year, we are mighty relieved to announce that the swim will start at 13.30 today.
So, if you’d like to lend your support at the finish, it’s at the back of Tenby harbour, near the old Grand Designs lifeboat house. If you’d prefer to spectate from a distance, South or Castle Beaches or atop Castle Hill are places with a view. The swimmers are due in from about 14.00.
And one other thing: all the training the swimmers have undertaken, all the effort of completing the challenging 2.5 mile swim from Caldey Island and all the skills and training of the safety crews and the organisers are for what? Why, charity, of course! And the swim’s beneficiaries are right next to Tenby’s heart: Tenby RNLI and Tenby Surflink. Water Safety all the way. So, if you happen to see a bucket doing the rounds, please think about what’s made this event happen and how you might show your appreciation. Thank you.
Hope to see you there!
